I don’t really have much to say about Mickey Spillane’s I, the Jury. it could have been worse, I guess, but even beyond the wildly ramped-up homophobia, sexism, and racism it was just so silly that I couldn’t take it seriously — and yet apparently it expected its reader to take it in earnest. extremely stupid book. also I’d figured out who the killer must be by like halfway through, just by vibe, so it didn’t even really work as a mystery.
moods: dark, horny, lighthearted, wacky (not intentionally)
